Microsoft have recently updated their Shared Source Licenses (was 1 previously, now there are 3).

We should consider what license we want to put on the Automaton source code.

I'm leaning towards the Mc-CL (Microsoft Community License) which does not allow licensees to charge modified work based on our source code, or should we just go for the full and free Ms-PL (Microsoft Permissive License?

I don't really care that much, if anyone wants to use our code that is fine, but some credits is due.

I think the Ms-CL is the best fit for this project, as it ensures the royalty-free redistribution of the source. As I understand it, it is still possible to provide commercial addons for parties wishing to do so.

Ok I've decided that we continue to use the Shared Source License until we decide for something else in the future.

The license is older than the new Ms-* licenses and I think it's closest to the Microsoft Permissive License (Ms-PL).

Our full license can be read in License.txt included with the source code, or the License tab on the CodePlex project site.

I'd also like to note that copyright notices are changing from:

Copyright © Sondre Bjellås. All rights reserved.

Into the new one:

Copyright © Automaton Group. All rights reserved.

This is to reflect and respect the change with contributors to the project (only been me up until recently).

We are still open for ideas and suggestions.
